We’re returning to SXSW Sydney in a big way this week.
Rolling Stone House is taking over the Lord Gladstone Hotel on Thursday, October 16th for a massive house party, featuring some of the most exciting rising stars in Australian and New Zealand music.
It will be the third edition of Rolling Stone House at SXSW Sydney, with incredible talents such as Hockey Dad, The Buoys, Phoebe Rings, and 9lives performing last year.
But what about the acts you can expect to see at the Lord Gladstone Hotel on Thursday?
Check out our handy guide to our house party headliner and supports below!
All the action at Rolling Stone House at The Lord Gladstone Hotel kicks off from 4pm on Thursday, October 16th. Priority entry will be given to SXSW Sydney badge holders.
DZ Deathrays
The words “calm” and “chill” don’t exist in DZ Deathrays’ vocabulary. We’ve booked one of Australia’s very best live bands as our Rolling Stone House headliner; three nominations at the National Live Music Awards tells you all you need to know about their credentials.
Love Music?
Get your daily dose of everything happening in Australian/New Zealand music and globally.

Expect mosh pit-ready energy from the Brisbane-born dance-punk trio, whose set will feature fan favourite anthems alongside new cuts from their forthcoming album, Easing Out of Control.
Raucous and rambunctious, DZ Deathrays are the type of band to remind you that music always sounds better up close.
Body Type
We just had to have a local favourite at our house party. Sydney’s own Body Type are one of the best post-punk bands to emerge out of Australia this decade.
Their 2022 debut album, Everything Is Dangerous But Nothing’s Surprising, rightly earned them a nomination for the prestigious Australian Music Prize. It also reached No. 48 in our 100 Best Australian Albums of the 2020s So Far list.
“[…] the Sydney foursome’s long-awaited debut album was thrillingly formidable, the assured lyricism and innate interplay almost unnerving at such an early stage,” we praised.
Jamaica Moana
If sleek and confident rap is more your thing, Jamaica Moana will definitely bring good vibes to the Lord Gladstone Hotel.
The rising star will be armed with tracks from her long-awaited debut EP, BUD & DENI, which dropped at the beginning of August. Fusing Moana’s vibrant Māori and Samoan heritage with an unapologetic queer identity, the record showed why Moana is the destined for the top.
Charlie Pittman
British-Australian singer-songwriter Charlie Pittman will also be at our house party, fresh from releasing his second EP, okay.again?. Pittman worked with some of the best musicians and producers in the business to craft the alt-pop gem, but the record belongs to the self-taught musician.
Pittman will come into our house party in fine form, with his national tour — not to mention a stellar support slot for The Manatees in the UK — ending just before SXSW Sydney.
D.C. Maxwell
Regularly featured in Rolling Stone AU/NZ thanks to his excellent debut album, Lone Rider (2023), D.C. Maxwell will be ready to show why he’s one of the most charismatic live performers on these shores.
The NZ-born, Melbourne-based just released his second single of the year, “Golden Light”, complete with a DIY music video shot on a Preston rooftop.
Maxwell’s first album earned a prestigious Taite nomination for Best Independent Debut, and Lone Rider also made it into our Best New Zealand Albums of 2023 countdown.
Ullah
Ullah is a rising star of Australian indie folk, so much so that she’s already been confirmed as Stella Donnelly‘s support for her 2026 national tour.
Ullah has spent the last few years cementing her reputation in Perth’s thriving music scene — now she’s about to show Sydney what all the fuss is about.
DJ Soluna
A 2025 finalist in Your Shout, the world’s biggest aspiring DJ competition, Soluna will keep the energy going at our house party by spinning tunes late into the night.
