Next week, British singer-songwriter Nick Mulvey is returning to Australia, bringing the introspective warmth of his latest album, Dark Harvest (Pt. 2), to the stage.
Since co-founding the Mercury Prize-nominated Portico Quartet, Mulvey has sought new avenues for his music. His solo work, now spanning three albums, has allowed him to carve out a distinct voice, blending experimentation with introspection.
Released in October, the album marks the culmination of Mulvey’s journey through self-discovery and renewal. It embraces the calm of letting go and the clarity that comes with belief, turning personal reflection into a liberating experience.
It follows Dark Harvest (Pt. 1), which explored themes of descent and grief, capturing the difficult periods he has faced in recent years. Describing these periods as “brutal” yet transformative, the singer remembers a friend saying to him: “There will be a ‘dark harvest’ to all of this, Nick; there will be treasure from these struggles.” That insight became the guiding light of Mulvey’s creative process.
He’s bringing the album Down Under next week, for the first time since 2022’s New Mythology. The tour kicks off in Brisbane on Wednesday (February 18th), before making its way through Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. Tickets are still available – see here for details.
Before the tour kicks off, Mulvey performed a stripped back Rolling Stone AU/NZ In My Room session. Watch it above!
