First Nations electronic artist Moss has ventured down a new path with fresh single “You Again”.
The Wadawurrung musician joined forces with fellow Aussie Boo Seeka, who co-wrote the track in just one day.
“This record is the first of a new direction for me and one that I really hold close. We wrote this a few months ago in one session and changed very little, preserving the raw creative energy of that moment to now be released,” Moss said.
Moss provides a bass-driven soundscape of emotional reflection beneath Boo Seeka’s delicate falsetto. Lightly pulsing synths and vulnerable lyrics combine sublimely as electronic drums enter the fray.
Moss described the track as an “evolution of my sound, diving deeper into songwriting, storytelling & creativity.” The two artists aimed to “capture a feeling – a presence in a room that was familiar, haunting but also friendly.”
He added, “As this next chapter of music unfolds, I honestly couldn’t be more proud to put this record out into the world.”
“You Again” is nearing 30,000 streams on Spotify in just a few days. “As this next chapter of music unfolds, I honestly couldn’t be more proud to put this record out into the world,” Moss said.
“You’re calling, calling, calling. How do I know you’re near?” the duo’s track wonders. Listen to the single in full below.
Moss most recently performed at Wildlands Festival and Ability Fest, where crowds took to the deep electronic anthems offered by the artist.
Boo Seeka, meanwhile, shared a demo from his fourth album on social media today, following on from some major festival appearances and some big drops last year, including a collaboration with Boy & Bear.
