Loren Ryan has stepped up her mix of R&B and country on her new single, “BOUNTY”.

Inspired by the film Dead for a Dollar, the song came from what Ryan calls “a sheer lack of anger management therapy” and sends a clear message about standing strong on your own.

“I won’t name names, but thank you to everyone who put me through just enough drama to help me make some of my best work — happy streaming,” she says.

After writing “BOUNTY”, Ryan worked with producer Jared Adlam (2023 Gold Coast Music Awards Producer of the Year) at Machine Lab Studios. It’s their first time back in the studio together since her 2024 single “HOEDOWN”.

Growing up in Tamworth, New South Wales, taught Ryan to be tough and stand her ground, a theme that runs through “BOUNTY”. Taking on a wild west story, she’s the outlaw with a bounty on her head.

The accompanying video, shot at Tamworth Historical Society, brings the western vibe to life. You can check it out below.

A proud Gamilaraay woman, Ryan has spent years building her name in Australia’s country scene with her R&B twist.

She won the 2023 Toyota Star Maker award and was nominated for New Talent of the Year at the Golden Guitar Awards. She’s also shared the stage with Troy Cassar-Daley, Jessica Mauboy, Kelly Rowland, and more. Ryan often includes her mother tongue in her own songs and covers of well-known pop hits.

Her love for music goes back to childhood days at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

“My earliest memories of going to the Tamworth Country Music Festival, seeing the buskers in the street, and going to some live music shows around town,” she told The Northern Daily Leader. “It really sparked it then.”

Loren Ryan’s “BOUNTY” is out now.
