Indie Meets Orchestral: Lime Cordiale and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Unite for an Epic Tour

The infectious indie duo are tapping into their classical roots by collaborating with one of Australia’s most revered ensembles, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

In Partnership with Sydney Symphony Orchestra

ARIA Award-winning band Lime Cordiale are best known for their pop-rock anthems and feel-good guitar riffs – but what you might not know is that their roots are actually in classical music.

Growing up in Sydney’s northern beaches, brothers Louis and Oliver Leimbach deepened their passion for music and performing, playing the classical clarinet and trumpet under the influence of their mother Karen Leimbach – a talented British-born cellist and orchestra conductor.

Before Lime Cordiale started out playing small but rowdy gigs along Sydney’s northern beaches, Oli studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, cutting his teeth in concert bands and orchestras.

Now, Louis and Oli are paying homage to their musical beginnings – and undoubtedly making their mum proud – by teaming up with revered orchestras across Australia for a series of unforgettable performances in some of the country’s most iconic venues – including the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House.

The carefree duo has seemingly endless and impressive supplies of energy in the tank. Off the back of their successful sold-out arena 2024 tour, they’ve only just recently announced a string of intimate east coast gigs for their ‘Love Is Off the Table’ tour, including stops in regional locations like Brunswick Heads, Townsville, Canberra, Rockhampton, and the NSW Central Coast – which we’re now considering just a warm-up for this main symphonic event.

Together with conductor Vanessa Scammell and arranger Alex Turley, Lime Cordiale have dug deep through their entire discography and selected a spectacular and transformative setlist to give fans and Lime-curious listeners a chance to hear one of Australia’s beloved bands like never before.

“This is a major bucket list tick for us. It’s scary and intimidating, but our inner band nerds are all for it,” Lime Cordiale proudly share. “We can’t wait to dive into some epic orchestral arrangements of our songs.”

And when they say epic orchestral arrangements, they’re not lying. Together with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, each performance will harmoniously blend over 80 musicians live on stage – think stirring strings, thunderous brass, bouncy basslines, and feel-good crescendos.
