Jim Beam Welcome Sessions Land in New Zealand for the First Time With Rapper JessB

After successful runs in Australia and the UK, Jim Beam Welcome Sessions is heading to New Zealand for the first time with Auckland rapper JessB

For the first time in 2023, Jim Beam Welcome Sessions is coming to New Zealand, bringing incredible local talent for an up-close experience with great tunes, refreshing drinks and immaculate vibes. The Jim Beam Welcome Sessions are all about bringing people together, making mates out of strangers and connecting people to their communities through live music.

Since launching in 2021, Jim Beam Welcome Sessions have connected fans and artists through live shows based in the very locations big acts first started to make their musical dreams happen.

Over the years, the series has featured artists including Jack Garratt, Fontaines D.C., Jose González, Muse, and Wolf Alice in the UK, as well as Flight Facilities, Client Liaison, Lime Cordiale and The Veronicas all performing to local crowds in Australia.

This year, it’s all coming to New Zealand, with Auckland-born and raised rapper JessB returning to her hometown for an unforgettable show. Jess has opened for some of the biggest names in rap in the world, including YG, Stormzy, and Little Simz, but at Jim Beam Welcome Sessions she’ll give fans the once-in-a-lifetime experience to see her up close and personal.

With barriers broken down, fans will get to experience Jess’ music in a truly immersive way, alongside other music lovers. Jess’ very first gigs were in the heart of Auckland and you’ll be able to experience that same energy, seeing her surrounded by your mates and soon-to-be mates.

Jess blew onto the scene in 2018 with her EP Bloom, followed by New Views in 2019. That same year, she won Best New Zealand Act at the 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards. She followed this up with her mixtape 3 Nights in Amsterdam in 2020 and has been praised for her singles “From That Jump” (2021) and “Can’t Fake It” (2022).

Before she went full-time into her music career, Jess was on the pathway to becoming a professional netballer. But a timely switch led her to make her creative outlet her full-time gig and now she’s clocked impressive features including on Doja Cat’s “Best Friend” remix, alongside Saweetie and Okenyo.

Jess has performed at major events around the world including SXSW in Austin, BIGSOUND, The Great Escape, Listen Out Tour 2022, Laneway, Rhythm & Vines, Northern Bass and Splore, and now she’s getting back to her roots with Jim Beam Welcome Sessions.

It’s guaranteed to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you and your mates to see Jess alongside other music lovers, enjoying refreshing beverages and great energy. For more information on how you and your mate can win tickets, head to the competition page.
