In My Room with Paige

The rising pop star took us to her childhood bedroom (sort of) for her Rolling Stone AU/NZ In My Room session

Paige performed new single “tragedy” for her Rolling Stone AU/NZ In My Room session.

Out now via Sony Music New Zealand, “tragedy” is the third release from the rising pop star’s forthcoming EP, paigesspace.

“This song is about holding on through a one-sided relationship when you feel the other person letting go,” Paige says of the track. “Although there’s so many reasons to leave, you’d rather put up with the bad stuff and keep them in your life than be without them.”

The live video, which doubles as her In My Room session, was filmed in a replica set of her childhood bedroom to “physically embody her digital platform,” according to a press release. Watch in the player above.

Paige’s forthcoming EP takes its title from the social media handle the singer-songwriter has used since she first started growing a fanbase online. The EP is described as being “where all of Paige’s ideas live — it’s where her subconscious mind can roam freely. It’s where she is unapologetically herself.”

“Tragedy” follows previous 2025 singles “no hoping” and “twenties”, the latter of which featured in our Song You Need to Know series.

“‘Twenties’ introduces a new chapter for Paige, blending her trademark vulnerability with a lighter, more pop-leaning sound. The song reflects on the rapid pace of young adulthood and the urge to slow down and take it all in,” we wrote.

Paigesspace will follow her acclaimed 2023 debut album King Clown, a punchy pop record largely written by Paige and produced by Simon Gooding. The album earned her nominations for Album of the Year and Best Pop Artist at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards, and she previously won Best Māori Female Solo Artist at the 2021 Waiata Māori Music Awards.

Looking to the future, Paige has an exciting month ahead of her: she’ll travel to South Korea to perform at the country’s inaugural Zandari Fest.
