Ahead of his ‘Bloodline Tour’, Conrad Sewell has joined forces with his Grammy-nominated sister Grace (SAYGRACE) for an intimate, stripped-back performance of his global hit “Firestone”.
Filmed exclusively for Rolling Stone AU/NZ, the acoustic version offers fans a taste of what’s to come when Sewell hits the road later this year.
Created with Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo, Sewell’s “Firestone” was released in 2014 and made him a household name, opening the door to tours with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5, Jess Glynne, and, more recently, Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas. The song – his first official solo endeavour – has since gone on to achieve over one billion streams on Spotify alone.
In an interview with Rolling Stone AU/NZ last year, before he celebrated the song’s tenth anniversary with a massive regional Australian tour, Sewell said “Firestone” completely changed his life “in many ways”. He told us: “It’s always incredible to be a part of a song that touches that many people. But for the song to still stand the test of time and be so loved ten years later is a dream come true.”
Sewell will soon hit the road again with the ‘Bloodline Tour’ supported by Grace. Kicking off at Melbourne’s The Night Cat on June 5th, the pair will then make their way to Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on June 6th, Brisbane’s The Triffid on June 26th, and Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on June 27th. He’ll also be joined by songwriter and striking guitarist SOLOMON across all dates. Tickets are on sale now here.
“We’ve always wanted to tour together, but our schedules never aligned – Grace being in LA and me being in Australia made it pretty tough. It finally feels like the right moment in both of our careers to share the stage and make this happen,” he said of the upcoming run.
