Cap Carter celebrated the release of his new single during his Rolling Stone AU/NZ ‘In My Room’ session.
The Western Sydney singer-songwriter just dropped “Honour,” his first single of 2024, timed perfectly ahead of his trip to BIGSOUND 2024 this week.
“Hailing from the rough streets of West Sydney, Mt Druitt – Manila-born, folk-soul artist Cap Carter is a raw, unapologetic singer/songwriter who is not afraid to bare his soul,” BIGSOUND describes the musician.
“Over the past few years, he’s been connecting with national and global audiences by sharing his story through music – documenting chaos and beauty in ballad-esque melody and emotionally charged narratives.”
For those attending BIGSOUND this year, Carter’s soulful songs can be heard at the following showcases:
JBL Live at BIGSOUND Stage, Brunswick Street Mall – Tuesday, September 3rd (9:30pm-10pm local time)
The Prince Consort Hotel – Thursday, September 5th (4pm-7pm local time)
The Prince Consort Hotel – Thursday, September 5th (8:15pm-8:45pm local time)
Carter’s star has been on the rise for several years now. The proud Western Sydney artist featured in Tone Deaf‘s Get to Know series in 2022, with the publication noting that his “stirring vocals recall UK contemporaries like James Vickery and Sam Smith.”
Carter featured in the series to coincide with the release of his 2022 EP, Live Vol. 1, which really brought his powerhouse voice to the fore, and each Carter release since has done similarly, particularly his Live at Sugarshack Sessions trio of songs from last year.

But his ‘In My Room’ session was all about his latest single. Carter held a special listening party inside a studio for to mark the release of “Honour,” performing a stripped back version of his song.
