Soft Bait – Life Advice

Tāmaki Makaurau post-punk four-piece Soft Bait have released their second album Life Advice via Flying Nun Records, a sharp, restless collection blending driving basslines, wiry guitars and dry Kiwi wit. Alongside the uneasy single “Sooner” and its new music video, the band have announced a nationwide tour this August, with energetic live shows planned in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Tāmaki Makaurau, Ōtautahi and Ōtepoti.

Georgia Lines – “Till the Music Stops”

Georgia Lines has dropped her new single “Till the Music Stops”, a slow-building, emotional track from her upcoming EP The Guest House, out August 29th. The song captures the feeling of being suspended in time, right before letting go.

Arahi – “Mai Tawhiti”

Tāmaki Makaurau artist Arahi has released his new bilingual single “Mai Tawhiti”, featuring vocals from Anna Coddington. The track was produced by Jol Mulholland and includes reo Māori translation by Hana Mereraiha.

Fly My Pretties – “Nice N’ Easy”

Fly My Pretties have released “Nice N’ Easy”, the first single from the upcoming deluxe edition of their 2025 album Elemental. Led by Ryan Prebble, the gritty rock track channels the swagger of FMP classics like “Turnaround” and “Let’s Roll”.

Yumi Zouma – “Cross My Heart and Hope to Die”

New Zealand indie band Yumi Zouma return with their third single, “Cross My Heart and Hope to Die”, from their upcoming album. Blending political unease with cinematic flair, the track follows “Blister” and “Bashville on the Sugar“, and sees the band at their most intense yet.

Deva Mahal – “Need”

APRA Silver Scroll nominee  Deva Mahal enters her soft, sultry era with new R&B ballad “Need”. Produced with Ashton Sellars and Chris Wethey, “Need” follows the Silver Scroll nominated track”South Coast” featuring Estère, and arrives ahead of Deva’s Aotearoa tour this July and August.

Late June – “we’ve been here”

New Zealand producer Late June returns with “we’ve been here”, a new single from his upcoming album tumblrcore, out September 19th via DRM/The Orchard. The track blends subtle UK garage beats, soft piano, and distant vocals to create a chilled, immersive sound that reflects on familiar moments in life.

Frankie Venter – “talking to the walls”

Fresh off her Best Pop Artist nomination at the Aotearoa Music Awards, 18-year-old Frankie Venter shares her latest single, “talking to the walls”.
