Iconic Sydney music venue Qudos Bank Arena has officially changed its name to Afterpay Arena, as part of a five-year partnership with the leading buy-now-pay-later platform. The 21,000-capacity stadium, which was named in Billboard’s 2025 Top Five Live Music Venues in the World, has housed some of Australia’s biggest musical performances, including Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish’s record-breaking Hit Me Hard and Soft tour.
Along with a brand-new name, which came into effect on Thursday, July 23rd, the venue will boast new payment services on-site, powered by Square. Everything has been built around keeping fans in the moment, from the way they buy their ticket to every food, beverage and merch purchase throughout the venue. Every transaction is as fast as possible, so fans can spend more time at the show they came to see and less time waiting in line.
But how will this affect Sydney’s music scene?

Fortunately, the name change won’t affect any upcoming shows or artists. Afterpay Arena’s 2026 schedule is already stacked, with live performances planned from some of today’s biggest stars. Icelandic singer Laufey, famous for her 2023 hit “From the Start”, will take the stage in August for a genre-blending tour, followed by sold-out tours from Olivia Dean, Tame Impala, and Hilary Duff in October.
For concertgoers, the transition is seamless. If you’ve already booked tickets to a show at Afterpay Arena, your ticket is still fully valid. Digital tickets will automatically update in the days following July 23rd to reflect the new venue name, and if you’re holding a printed ticket with Qudos Bank Arena on it, that’s honoured too. If you haven’t bought a ticket yet, you can do so with Afterpay, splitting your purchase across four interest-free installments, so you don’t have to miss out on the events you love.

And while the Olympic Park venue has been cashless for years, Afterpay will now be accepted throughout the building, meaning you can use the payment platform for your food, beverage, and merch needs. The name change may see Afterpay solidified as a key player in Sydney’s entertainment landscape, ensuring that for the next five years, music-loving audiences are able to connect with their favourite artists with ease.
