The real Anna Wintour just stepped down from her job as editor-in-chief of Vogue, but her fictional counterpart, Runway editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly, is back on the job. Meryl Streep will return as Priestly, and Anne Hathaway will be back as her one-time assistant Andrea “Andy” Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2, now in production, according to an announcement from Disney’s 20th Century Studios and trade reports.

Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are also reprising their roles from the 2006 film, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety confirm. The cast is also expanding with the addition of Kenneth Branagh, who will reportedly portray Priestly’s husband. Production is taking place across New York and Italy, according to trade publication reports.

The sequel’s plot centres on a magazine industry facing significant challenges, with Runway diminished compared to its former glory. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blunt’s character has climbed the corporate ladder since her assistant days and now holds an executive position at a luxury brand conglomerate that advertises in Runway. It’s still unclear how Hathaway’s character — who had strayed far from fashion journalism at the end of the last film — will find a place in the story.

The original film, adapted from Lauren Weisberger’s novel, earned $326 million worldwide, secured Streep an Academy Award nomination, and has become one of the most beloved and frequently quoted movies of the century. No release date has yet been announced for the sequel.
