“What are you willing to sacrifice?” Marlon Wayans repeats hauntingly in the new Him teaser, which dropped on Friday. The two-minute teaser for the Jordan Peele–produced film follows Isaiah White (Wayans) training a quarterback, Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers), as he pushes him to stardom regardless of the cost.

“If you want to transcend the game, you have to dig deep. Your mind, your body have to be in sync,” Wayans says in the video. “Talent is how hard you’re willing to work. No days off. No sleep. We grind. I’m never good enough. Never good enough. That’s how great people think.”

Mid-teaser, two football players bump helmets and fall in slow motion as Wayans continues, and the teaser devolves into football violence, “So you’re gonna have to ask yourself. What am I willing to sacrifice?”

The new video shows clips of Withers’ character Cade being attacked by an axe-wielding creature, footage of him at a party with strange characters, and him lying on broken glass in a strange ritual-like setting. The video then devolves into a bloodied, horror-filled montage of bloodied characters and fellow players.

“On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan and suffers a potentially career-ending brain trauma,” reads a logline of the film. “Just when all seems lost, Cam receives a lifeline when his hero, Isaiah White, a legendary eight-time Championship quarterback and cultural megastar, offers to train Cam at Isaiah’s isolated compound that he shares with his celebrity influencer wife, Elsie White (Julia Fox).”

The logline teases how “Isaiah’s charisma begins to curdle into something darker, sending his protégé down a disorienting rabbit hole that may cost him more than he ever bargained for.”

Both actors shared the teaser of the film — which also stars Fox, Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, Akeem Hayes, and Tierra Whack — during CinemaCon recently. Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions are producing the film along with Ian Cooper, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson. David Kern and Monkeypaw’s Kate Oh as executive producers.
