Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe” serves as the soundtrack for the puzzling, creepy new trailer for Yorgos Lanthimos’ film, Bugonia, out Oct. 24. The clip focuses on Emma Stone, a powerful CEO, who is kidnapped and accused of being an alien by a pair of unwell men.
“Welcome to the headquarters of the human resistance,” a man tells Stone, who suddenly appears bald and covered in a white substance. “Your hair has been destroyed… to prevent you from contacting your ship… your mothership.”
Along with Stone, Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone are also set to appear in the film. “Two conspiracy-obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth,” reads a synopsis.
The trailer follows the two kidnappers, Teddy (Plemons) and Don (Delbis) as they plot to capture Emma Stone’s character, and how they deal with her capture as they explain why they think she’s trying to “kill our planet.”
During the trailer, Stone describes a manhunt that will start because of the kidnapping and how there is “no possible scenario” where they’ll “benefit from this incident.”
“I know who you are,” Teddy tells her. “I know what you are.”
“I know you, too, Teddy,” Stone’s character responds before he climbs onto the table to attack her.

The film premiered on Thursday at the Venice Film Festival and earned a six-minute standing ovation. Bugonia follows her starring role in Poor Things — also led by Yorgos Lanthimos — in 2023 and Kind of Kindness last year. She also appeared in the Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal-led Eddington earlier this year.
