The 2026 Actor Awards are here. The ceremony, presented by SAG-AFTRA, kicks off Sunday night, with this year’s biggest stars gathering to celebrate each other and their accomplishments in film and television.
This is the first year the annual award show has gone by the Actor Awards instead of the Screen Actors Guild Awards. “We wanted to provide clearer recognition in terms of what the show is about for our domestic and global audiences: We honor actors in film and television,” its official website explained of the name change. “Laser-focusing the name on those two things became the clearest and most straightforward path for this new chapter of the show.”
Hosted by Kristen Bell for the second consecutive year, tonight’s ceremony, held at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles, will award prizes across 15 categories. Since the actors are the largest voting body for the Academy Awards, the Actor Awards could give major insights into what to expect from the 98th Oscars ceremony later this month.
