Sunday night’s (February 1st) highly anticipated UFC 325 event created history, with an Australian box office record of $14.4 million.
Returning to Qudos Bank Arena for the eighth time, the fight between Australian Alex Volkanovski and Brazilian Diego Lopes filled a packed room of over 18,000 fans. Volkanovski successfully defended his UFC Featherweight Championship, winning a unanimous decision over Lopes.
The event featured notable fights across multiple divisions, with standout performances from fighters like Mauricio Ruffy and Quillan Salkilld, as well as finals from Road to UFC Season 4.
With $14.4 million at the box office, it has become the highest grossing indoor arena event in Australian history, surpassing the previous record held by UFC 312 from February 2025.

UFC CEO and President Dana White added: “As usual, another incredible event in Australia. NSW Premier Chris Minns said the revenue gives a “huge vote of confidence” in NSW and, in particular Sydney, as a global events destination. “Congratulations to Volkanovski on a massive win, it’s great to see an Australian champion shine on home soil while thousands of fans enjoy a world-class event right here in NSW,” he said.
