The NRL’s upcoming Vegas round has just been promoted to millions of eyeballs around the world.

On Tuesday (or Monday evening US time), the rugby league’s round one spectacle got a major plug on WWE Raw, while former player and Triple M radio host Aaron Woods was shown in attendance at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Given that the pro wrestling juggernaut’s premiere episode on Netflix was watched by a reported 4.9 million people globally, that is quite the promotion.

Check out a clip of Woods at RAW below.

Taking place at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, March 1st, the 2025 NRL season will kick off for the second time in Las Vegas with two games – Canberra Raiders taking on the New Zealand Warriors and reigning champions, the Penrith Panthers, doing battle with the Cronulla Sharks.

Fans heading to the game will also get to watch UK Super League teams Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves in action, as well as a match between the Australian Jillaroos and the England Women’s Team.

Just weeks later, the WWE will head to Allegiant Stadium for Wrestlemania 41 on Saturday, April 19th and Sunday, April 20th.

The plug on WWE TV comes only days after fellow pro wrestling promotion, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) made its Australian debut with a live show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

As well as appearances from legends like Chris Jericho and Adam “Edge” Copeland, the Brisbane crowd were treated to matches from the likes of Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, and Mercedes Mone, as well as Melbourne-born star Buddy Matthews and Gold Coast-raised “Timeless” Toni Storm who won the AEW Women’s World Championship for a record-setting fourth time.

While the WWE is plotting a return to Australia in the near future after the success of the Elimination Chamber event in Perth last year, AEW has already confirmed its Grand Slam event will return down under in 2026.
