Jane Goodall‘s cause of death has been revealed. According to a death certificate, Goodall’s cause of death is listed as cardiopulmonary arrest. She died on Oct. 1 at the age of 91.

The Jane Goodall Institute previously confirmed Goodall’s death in a statement, saying she had died from “natural causes” while in California on a speaking tour. According to the death certificate obtained and published by TMZ Monday, Jane also had epilepsy, but it did not specify if that played a role in her death.

“Dr. Goodall’s discoveries as an ethologist revolutionized science, and she was a tireless advocate for the protection and restoration of our natural world,” read the statement announcing her death from the Jane Goodall Institute. Goodall was on tour in California when she died, and was scheduled to speak at UCLA in Los Angeles on Oct. 3, two days after her death.

The conservationist community and celebrities alike have mourned Goodall’s passing. Ellie Goulding shared a sweet tribute to Goodall with Rolling Stone crediting her changing her environmentalism into a lifelong mission.

“She, more than anyone, understood that we are all in this together and that when we fail to protect nature, we fail to protect ourselves,” Goulding wrote. “I am so grateful she has given us this legacy. Especially now, in these turbulent and strange times, we have at least a chance, individually and collectively, to remember what really matters: our natural world, and really reconnect with it the way Jane knew was crucial to our very existence.”

Goulding added: “There is no health, no music, no business, and no prosperity on a dead planet.”
