Two icons are set to take the stage at next month’s Sydney Film Festival.
Organisers confirmed this week that legendary Australian Oscar-winning filmmaker George Miller and iconic video game creator Hideo Kojima will take part in a world exclusive ‘In Conversation’.
The event – which comes ahead of Kojima’s next game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – will “explore the creative intersections between film and video games, and the visionary approach each artist brings to their craft.”
While Miller has helmed classic films like the Mad Max franchise and Happy Feet, Kojima is best known as the creator of the Metal Gear Solid series.
In Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, set for release on June 26th, players will explore Australia while Miller will also appear as a character. The game is a sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding led by The Walking Dead star, Norman Reedus.
“This is a rare and exciting meeting of two creative minds who have reshaped their respective industries,” Sydney Film Festival Director, Nashen Moodley said.
“Kojima and Miller’s shared love of cinema and storytelling will make for an unforgettable conversation at this year’s Festival.”
