Three awards for Aotearoa’s best composers have been announced for the upcoming award show in Christchurch this October.

The finalists have been revealed for three categories at the 2025 APRA Silver Scroll Awards, set to be presented next month in Ōtautahi Christchurch.

Announced Friday, September 5th, internationally commissioned composer Dylan Lardelli leads the SOUNZ Contemporary Award – Te Tohu Auaha with “Drift Aspect”, which premiered in Spain last year at Mostra Sonostra Sueca — a contemporary music festival in Spain.

He’s joined by Tāmaki Makaurau-born composer Flo Wilson for “In The Stars”, Ōtepoti Dunedin’s Ihlara McIndoe for 20th century poetry-inspired “of coral and foam” and SOUNZ Award-winning composer Chris Gendall for concerto “Wow Signal”.
