Dana White has offered his thoughts on the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting.
According to the UFC President and CEO, experiencing the shooting incident this weekend was “fucking awesome” (as per USA Today).
“All of a sudden, it just started getting noisy. Tables started getting flipped over, guys running in with guns, and they were screaming, ‘Get down!’” White, who was in attendance at the dinner, told the publication. “I didn’t get down. It was fucking awesome, and I literally took every minute of it in. It was a pretty crazy, unique experience.”
White claimed he was “right in front of where the president was” when the Secret Service moved in.
“Nobody got tackled, but guys came in looking for the shooter. And they came toward our table. I thought the shooter was over by us or something,” he recalled.
US President Donald Trump, First Lady Melanie Trump, and administration officials were swiftly evacuated from the dinner, which was held in the Washington Hilton Hotel, as the shooter was tackled by law enforcement officials on a different floor of the venue.
Trump posted on Truth Social shortly after the incident. “Quite an evening in D.C. Secret Service and Law Enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely,” he wrote. “The shooter has been apprehended, and I have recommended that we “LET THE SHOW GO ON” but, will entirely be guided by Law Enforcement.

“They will make a decision shortly. Regardless of that decision, the evening will be much different than planned, and we’ll just, plain, have to do it again. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Cole Tomas Allen has since been identified as the suspected gunman.
The 31-year-old Allen allegedly travelled by train from Los Angeles — where he lives and works as an educator in nearby Torrance — to Chicago, and then another train from Chicago to Washington, D.C., on Friday, after which he checked into the Washington Hilton Hotel, where the dinner was being held.

Trump is set to appear on 60 Minutes on Sunday night for an interview with CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell about the shooting.
