Below Deck star Nathan Gallagher was arrested on domestic-violence charges last December in Australia, according to a police memo obtained by Rolling Stone.

The alleged incident occurred shortly after Christmas Day, with officers arresting Gallagher on Dec. 27 for allegedly assaulting an unnamed 29-year-old woman at a Sydney-area apartment complex the previous day.

Gallagher was charged with “assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally chok[ing a] person without consent, and common assault,” according to New South Wales Police. There were no reports of any serious injuries being suffered by either party. Gallagher was eventually granted conditional bail. It is not clear how he pleaded to the charges. (Gallagher did not immediately reply to Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.)

While the woman was unnamed in the police memo, a corresponding court case names Gallagher as the subject of an Apprehended Violence Application filed on behalf of Gael Cameron, a fellow Below Deck castmate with whom Gallagher shares a young child. A hearing has been set for Sept. 1. (Rolling Stone has reached out to Cameron for comment.)

News of Gallagher’s arrest comes as his current season of Below Deck Mediterranean is currently airing on Bravo. (The season was filmed last summer.) One of the season’s major storylines is Gallagher juggling his bosun duties on the superyacht while trying to be present for Cameron and their newborn son.

A representative for Bravo did not immediately return Rolling Stone’s request for comment.
