Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate have been charged with rape, human trafficking, bodily harm, and more in the U.K. The sibling influencers who hold dual citizenship in the U.S. and U.K. were previously charged with sex trafficking in Romania and are also under criminal investigation in Florida.

Andrew Tate has been charged with rape, bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain. He faces 10 charges related to three separate women. Tristan Tate has been charged with rape, human trafficking, and bodily harm. He faces 11 charges related to one woman. The Tates have denied all previous charges after being accused of forming a trafficking group that misled and transported seven women to Romania, where they were sexually exploited and physically abused.

Per BBC, the Crown Prosecution Service received a police file regarding allegations based in the U.K., which led to the authorization of 21 total charges. The Romanian courts initially ordered that the Tates be extradited to the U.K. in 2024, but the CPS stated “the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first.”

In February, the Tate brothers were authorized to leave Romania and return to the U.S. Last July, a court ruled that the pair could leave Romania, but not the European Union. In December, a judge said the case could not go to trial because of various legal and procedural irregularities tied to the prosecution. This required investigators and prosecutors to bring forward new evidence to bolster their charges, or amend the indictment. The investigation in Romania remains open.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier launched a criminal investigation into Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate less than a week after they arrived in Fort Lauderdale from Romania. The nature of Uthmeier’s criminal investigation is unclear, but the brothers are currently in a legal battle with an American woman who sued them in Palm Beach County, Florida.
