From community marches to live music, art exhibitions to family fun days, NAIDOC Week is a time to honour the enduring strength and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Held from Sunday. July 6th to Sunday. July 13th, this year marks 50 years of NAIDOC Week — a milestone moment to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and look boldly to the future.
The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”, celebrates young First Nations people as torchbearers of culture and change, while acknowledging the legacy of generations who fought for rights, recognition and respect. Events across the country highlight Blak excellence in art, music, storytelling and activism, inviting all Australians to connect, learn and celebrate on Country.
Rolling Stone AU/NZ has whipped around the country to wrap up some of the NAIDOC Week celebrations happening in each of the capital cities, but remember if you can’t get to any of them, ABC and ABC iView will be premiering Australia’s first-ever First Nations variety program, That Blackfella Show, this Saturday, July 5th at 7.30pm.

The Neighbour at the Gate Exhibition
A powerful group show at the National Art School unpacking immigration and colonial legacies through First Nations and Asian Australian artists. Opening weekend includes artist talks, weaving workshops, family activities and a headline show by BARKAA.

Solid Ground 10th Anniversary Exhibition
