In Partnership with American Apparel®
It’s a great day for music and fashion lovers. In a big effort to reinvent its global footprint, American Apparel® has announced its return to Australian and New Zealand shores with a fresh online store, exciting new 2024 collection and an activation at none other than Bluesfest.
If you were online in the mid-aughts, you probably know – and were once obsessed with – American Apparel®.
The iconic clothing brand cemented itself as part of pop culture history with its timeless staples and provocative marketing campaigns. But above all, it was loved for its US-made, ethical production, quality garments and affordable prices.
Now, American Apparel® has reinvented itself and is proving better than ever. The brand has reestablished its commitment to ethical and sustainable manufacturing and launched a new collection and campaign, Craft the Culture™ – an initiative dedicated to celebrating all forms of creativity.
The collection features twelve styles across five collections, including the new
ReFlex lightweight fleece, heavyweight cotton garment-dyed t-shirt and muscle tee, sueded unisex t-shirt, and, of course, the classic staples you’d expect from the brand.
“We’ve always been more than a clothing brand,” says Emma Budzisz, Vice-President of Marketing at Gildan Activewear SRL. “With Craft the Culture™, we’re championing the essence of individuality, welcoming everyone to express themselves through their passions, whether it be through fashion, art, music, or any other form of creativity.”
It makes sense, then, that American Apparel® is marking its return to Australia with an exclusive activation at the 35th anniversary of Bluesfest, which boasts an all-star lineup featuring artists like Jack Johnson, The Teskey Brothers, Matt Corby, Tom Jones, Ziggy Alberts and Dan Sultan, among others.
Attending the festival? In between sets, go find the American Apparel® live print activation, where you can customise your very own Limited Edition T-shirt.
The pop up is a one-of-a-kind collaboration between American Apparel® and renowned Aussie artist, illustrator and published author, Mulga. Admired in the Australian design scene, Mulga is known for his signature line work and bright colours. He’s illustrated everything from murals to skateboards – and now, you can score his artwork on a classic American Apparel® tee.
Keen to check it out? Bluesfest is set to take place from Thursday, March 28th-Monday, April 1st in Byron Bay. Tickets are still available for the festival via the official website.
“We are thrilled to be bringing our newest products and increasing the accessibility of American Apparel® for shoppers in Australia and New Zealand,” says Emma. Tell all your friends: American Apparel is back.
