Jazmine Mary will bring their first Australian full-band tour of 2026 to the country this month.
The Aotearoa-based alt-folk artist will open the run tonight (June 5th) at RISING Festival in Melbourne, before moving through Victoria, Canberra, and New South Wales.
Mary heads into the tour off the back of their 2025 album I Want to Rock and Roll, released via Flying Nun Records. The record marked a new phase in their sound, landing at No. 10 on the Official NZ Top 20 and earning a nomination for the 2026 Taite Music Prize.
Across their tour, Mary will perform with a full band for the first time in Australia, with the exception of a duo appearance in Sydney. The shows follow a growing trans-Tasman profile that spans performance art spaces, festival stages, and club rooms.
The run also lands as Mary becomes the first artist featured in our new Rolling Stone AU/NZ series Making Music, Making Ends Meet, which explores how artists survive financially while continuing to make music. The series opens with Mary’s account of the contradictions behind sustaining a creative life.
“Do I lie to sound successful and optimistic? Or tell the truth and seem ungrateful and miserable?,” Mary writes. “I also want to acknowledge the reality we face as working musicians, which is we can’t pay our fucking rent or go to therapy and we are all super sad, and at times the systems we are operating in put us in harm’s way with our minds, bodies, and spirits.”

They see remaining an artist in these conditions as an act of generosity, adding that they “want more people to do it.”
