Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update mocked Vice President JD Vance‘s failure to negotiate an agreement with Iran to end the war, as well as an odd analogy he made about his wife, Usha.
Vance left Pakistan on Sunday empty handed after 21 hours of negotiating, saying Iranians “have chosen not to accept our terms.” What will follow the two-week ceasefire that was agreed to on Tuesday—after Trump had threatened to destroy Iranian civilization—therefore remains unclear.
“Guys, I think they’re done for real, based on how his mascara is running,” Michael Che joked, as an altered photo showed on screen of the vice president with dripping eyeliner.

Colin Jost then called attention to how Vance responded to a reporter’s question about Iran’s “right” to enrich uranium.
Vance had said, “My wife has the right to skydive, but she doesn’t jump out of an airplane because she and I have an agreement that she’s not going to do that, because I don’t want my wife jumping out of an airplane.”
Jost, who called the analogy “a little weird,” reacted: “What the hell are you talking about? The only thing that makes sense in that entire analogy is that we can all understand JD Vance’s wife having the urge to jump.”
Che then turned to First Lady Melania Trump’s surprise speech on Thursday in which she denied having a relationship with dead sex predator Jeffrey Epstein and disputed claims that Epstein introduced her to Donald. Che joked: “Because they actually met when Trump cracked open her shipping container.”
