Two major NBA stars are set to headline the first NBA House Australia, an immersive basketball experience and fan event taking place in Melbourne next month.

In celebration of the 2026 Playoffs, the event will take over Melbourne’s Timber Yard from Thursday, May 14th-Sunday, May 17th, featuring on-court basketball activities; live performances by international and Australian musical artists and DJs; meet-and-greets; a 3-on-3 celebrity game; streetwear showcases; photo opportunities with the Larry O’Brien Trophy; and performances by Sacramento Kings mascot Slamson, the Kings Dancers and the Kings dunk team.

It follows previous editions of NBA House held in Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Mexico, the US, the UK, and this year (also for the first time) in Japan.

Two-time NBA All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Utah Jazz and four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins will headline the debut event, with their attendance including fan meet-and-greets.

A 6’10” forward/centre who was selected fourth overall in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, Jackson Jr. was also the 2022-23 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year and has earned multiple Kia All-Defensive Team honours prior to be trading to the Jazz this season.

Meanwhile, Cousins is a 6’10” centre who was selected fifth overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Kings. He was also a two-time Kia All-NBA Second Team member and named to the Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team in his rookie season.

“I’m excited to be part of the first NBA House in Australia,” said Jackson Jr. “I know Australian fans are some of the most passionate in the world, and I look forward to celebrating the excitement of the NBA Playoffs with them.”
