A free exhibition of works by a renowned Australian photographer is heading to Ibiza next month, including photos of Charli XCX, FISHER, and Skillex.

Capturecharles’ exhibition A Shot in the Dark will open on April 17th, and run to May 8th at In-Between Ibiza’s gallery in Dalt Vila. Offering an intimate, film-shot portrait of global club culture, the exhibition traces capturecharles’ evolution to working globally with leading artists and institutions at the forefront of nightlife culture.

His art has positioned him at the centre of an international scene, working alongside some of the most influential figures. Yet the essence of the work remains grounded in people; in shared experience, in movement, in presence, collective momentum and individual expression.

The free exhibition will be presented in two parts. A series of works capturing Charli XCX, Eliza Rose, FISHER, Keinemusik, Kettama, KI/KI, Peggy Gou, Skrillex, Chloe Caillet, Skepta, Skin On Skin, Ushuaïa, Wiz Khalifa, and Interplanetary Criminal will be on display, while a separate collection of candid photographs of electronic music culture from around the world is available for purchase as limited edition prints.

A Shot in the Dark brings together a collection of experiences documenting global nightlife culture and capturing the communities that are so deeply important to so many people and myself,” the photographer said.

“The images hold record of nightlife progressing through the last five years. As all the crews, promoters, artists and dance floors move into the next generations, I am able to showcase this visual archive of everyone who has put so much effort to be involved. What brings me the most fulfilment is being able to share those moments back with people, allowing them to see themselves as they were on these nights out, immersed in their own freedom.”

Founded by Jessica Courtney, In-between Ibiza, which will host the exhibition, bridges the gap between tradition and modernity, presenting a programme of artists whose work reflects the island’s vibrant, free-spirited identity.

Located between the Castle of Ibiza’s iconic entrance and the Museum of Contemporary Art Ibiza, the gallery advocates for art as a way to connect with community, nature, and oneself, while promoting the values at the heart of Ibizan culture: diversity, peace, acceptance, creativity, sustainability, and respect for nature.

Courtney said capturecharles’ photographs reflect “a global culture defined by connection, freedom, and shared moments of joy”.

She explained: “In celebrating this spirit and paying tribute to creativity and collective energy, I hope the exhibition both inspires and uplifts its audience. I also feel particularly grateful to showcase capturecharles’ work in Ibiza, an island that has always served as a meeting point for music, creativity, and human connection.”
