Fred again.. has dropped his full B2B set with Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter on YouTube this week.
The nearly two hour long set, recorded at London’s Alexandra Place in February on the closing night of Fred again..’s unparalleled USB002 run, marked a very rare appearance from Bangalter – and only his second live performance in nearly 20 years.
“Me [and] Thomas spent the week in London preparing a whole load of things so we had a USB stacked with ideas we could draw for depending on what ended up happening in the moment,” Fred again.. said. “Some we didn’t get to play. Some we made without each other hearing so it was still a surprise.
“To everyone who’s been a part of USB002, everyone who came through around the world, everyone who made it what it was, thank you forever.”

Fred’s USB series saw him release ten songs, with ten shows in ten cities around the world across ten weeks. These included “Facilita” with Caribou and MC Teteu, “Ambery” with Floating Points, “the floor” remixes with Skin On Skin & BEAM, and “OK OK” with Danny Brown, BEAM & PARISI.
It also included “you’re a star” with Australia’s own Amy Taylor of Amyl and the Sniffers, as well as “HARDSTYLE 2” with KETTAMA and Australian three-piece Shady Nasty.

In an exclusive Rolling Stone AU/NZ interview in September, Taylor had high praise for the British DJ.
“It’s really flattering, because I feel like — and I told him this too — Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He’s Willy Wonka, and somehow I got a golden ticket to be a part of his world,” she told us. “He’s one of the best DJs in the world, and he’s such a nice dude, really friendly and enthusiastic, and the song is a massive banger. I love the remix, and it’s taken on a whole new feeling. It was really, really fun to be able to work with him.”
