In an 8.7 appraisal, Pitchfork wrote that “Karly Hartzman leads her North Carolina band in another triumph. The careful songwriting and coiled performances wrestle with the many fiascos of life and love.”

“Wednesday’s Bleeds might be the rock album of the year,” declared NPR last year, while The Guardian considered it to be “the year’s best alt-rock album.”

The band’s last visit to New Zealand also received widespread praise. In a glowing review, 95bFM called their Auckland show at Whammy Bar a “sold out countrygaze extravaganza.”

“Wednesday on a Thursday…the North Carolina noise-rockers rolling into Auckland’s Whammy Bar only to find a sold-out audience waiting to be rocked, entertained and challenged. And that’s just what happened,” wrote The 13th Floor
