New York alt-metal icons Helmet have announced a run of rescheduled Australian dates after being forced to postpone the local leg of their “30 Years – 30 Songs” tour.
In November of last year, fans of the Helmet were undoubtedly delighted to learn of the group’s plans to bring their 30th anniversary tour down to Australia. Their first shows in the country since 2017, the news was made all the more sweet when it was revealed that these shows would feature a 30-song, career-spanning set that would serve as a true celebration of Helmet’s storied career.
Originally set to kick off in May, this tour would see the group performing massive shows around the country, with high-demand causing to sell-outs and extra shows being added to cope with the response from fans.
Unfortunately, the impact of COVID-19 has now seen the group’s May tour being postponed to later in the year, with new dates being announced recently. Now set to kick off in November, the itinerary has changed a little bit, with the tour now beginning in Hobart, and some venues being upgraded along the way.
While the Hobart show at the Uni Bar will now take place at the Republic Bar, the Brisbane show scheduled for The Zoo on May 1st will now take place at The Triffid instead. It’s all a little bit confusing, so be sure to read on for all the important details about which shows will now take place when.
All previously-purchased tickets remain valid for the new dates, while tickets for other shows are available now via David Roy Williams.
