Princess Chelsea has shared a very special record.
In November 2022, during her album tour for Everything Is Going to Be Alright, Princess Chelsea and her band The Dream Warriors recorded 10 songs at Abbey Road’s Studio Two, the room made famous by The Beatles and Pink Floyd.
The result is Live at Studio Two, a visual feast captured by London-based Kiwi director Marc Swaddle alongside Jonathan Bree.
Three years in the making, the one-hour set showcases Chelsea and her band playing completely live while making full use of Abbey Road’s classic collection of vintage instruments — keep your eyes peeled for the famous Mrs Mills piano.
The Dream Warriors are Chelsea alongside Jasmine Balmer, Joshua Worthington-Church, David Harris, Simeon Kavanagh-Vincent, and Joe Kaptein. Tara Viscardi (harp) Nathan Giorgetti (cello) also feature in the Abbey Road session.
Chelsea’s performance draws heavily on material from Everything Is Going to Be Alright (2022), which won the singular art-pop artist the Taite Music Prize in 2023. We also named it the second best New Zealand album of the decade so far.
To celebrate the release, Lil’ Chief Records has pressed an exclusive yellow vinyl edition featuring selected songs from the special, available exclusively via Rough Trade London, in New Zealand record stores, and the Lil’ Chief Records webstore.

Live at Studio 2 has already gone down a treat in Chelsea’s home country.
“What ensued can only truly be revealed with a first listen, but anyone who has caught them on the stage will know this cauldron is set to be full of magic,” wrote Flying Out.
Chelsea featured not once but twice in our Best Australian & New Zealand Songs of the 21st Century So Far list last year.
“Forever Is a Charm”, a highlight of Everything Is Going to Be Alright, came in at No. 154, while “I Love My Boyfriend” (2018) made it all the way to No. 37.
