Known for blending synth‑pop, indie dance and alternative electronic sounds with both emotional depth and irresistible rhythms, Hot Chip have earned a reputation as one of the most innovative and enduring acts of the 21st-century British music scene.
Formed in London in 2000, and comprised of multi‑instrumentalists Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Al Doyle, Owen Clarke, and Felix Martin, the band’s work over more that two decades has spun a compelling arc from DIY beginnings into “the greatest British pop group of their generation” (The Guardian), with a catalogue that spans eight acclaimed studio albums and countless club anthems.
Their most recent, 2025’s Joy in Repetition, showed why they remain as vital as ever. The greatest‑hits compilation marked 25 years of the band’s career, tracing their artistic evolution from early tracks through to fan favourites, bringing together classics like “Ready for the Floor”, “Boy From School”, “Flutes”, and “I Feel Better”.
The album also showcased a new single, “Devotion”, which celebrated the band’s enduring friendship and creative synergy and served as a standout centerpiece amidst familiar favourites.

According to Hot Chip, the collection is less a ‘best of’, more like a ‘best loved’ – tracks that have connected during their thrilling live shows and have taken on a life of their own beyond the original recorded versions.
They took the album on tour with Australian shows – including AO Live – earlier this month. Critics praised their live show’s describing them as ones that “remind us these Brits are untouchable” because “audiences can’t get enough of them”.
