Maren Morris has been forced to call off the first few shows of her upcoming Australia and New Zealand tour, scheduled to kick off this weekend.
The US country star’s run was set to kick off in Perth on Friday, followed by Brisbane on Sunday; however, due to extreme weather conditions, Morris is currently unable to leave her home.
“Hi everyone, the last few days have been terrifying in my home of Nashville, Tennessee. We’ve been without power and safe passage to other neighbourhoods for days now, and it’s looking like we’ll be in this for another few,” Morris said in a statement.
“With the ice freezing over every night, until enough has melted on the roads and our house power is restored, we’re stuck. I’m devastated to have to cancel these first two Australia shows. We are at the mercy of mother nature and trying to stay safe.”
All tickets purchased for the Perth and Brisbane dates will be automatically refunded to the original payment method used.
The Australian trip will commence in Melbourne on Thursday, February 5th.
This tour comes on the back of Morris’ latest album, D R E A M S I C L E.
