Ticketmaster has responded to criticism from Olivia Dean regarding tickets to her 2026 tour, in which resale prices were shooting well past the original cost after going on sale.
Over the weekend, the UK singer took to Instagram shortly after tickets to her tour went on sale, writing: “The prices at which you’re allowing tickets to be re-sold is vile and completely against our wishes. Live music should be affordable and accessible, and we need to find a new way of making that possible. BE BETTER.”
On Thursday (November 27th), Ticketmaster announced it is capping all future ticket resale prices for her The Art of Loving run and “refunding fans for any markup they already paid to resellers on Ticketmaster”.
“We share Olivia Dean’s desire to keep live music accessible and ensure fans have the best access to affordable tickets,” a statement from the company reads.
“While we can’t require other marketplaces to honour artists’ resale preferences, we echo Olivia’s call to ‘do better’ and have taken steps to lead by example. We hope efforts like this help fans afford another show they’ve been considering – or discover someone new.”
Last week, tickets to Dean’s Baltimore show ranged from $54 to $166; no verified resell tickets were available for Baltimore or Dean’s sold-out Madison Square Garden dates. The price range for the Charm City show on Stubhub ranged from $202 to $507.
The news comes after Dean hit Sydney last week for a performance at the ARIA Awards, as well as a one-off headline show, ahead of a wider arena tour in 2026.

The Art of Loving has been widely praised.
“Dean’s star power is radiant and fueled by more than just charisma. She grooves in perfect time with an expertly assembled band, navigating through blaring trumpets, trombones, and saxophones with a delicate attention to detail and synchronicity,” Rolling Stone‘s Larisha Paul wrote in a review of the follow-up to 2023’s Messy.
