Glen Powell Hunts Down His Rich Relatives in First Trailer for ‘How to Make a Killing’

Watch Glen Powell resort to lethal measures to eliminate the “seven rich pricks” that stand in the way of his family inheritance.

Fresh off the back of his performance as the anti-establishment firebrand Ben Richards in The Running Man, Glen Powell is once again setting his sights on eliminating the 1% in the first trailer for the A24/Studio Canal thriller How to Make a Killing.

In the upcoming film, which is inspired by Robert Hamer’s 1949 British crime caper, Kind Hearts and Coronets, Powell plays Becket Redfellow, the disowned blue-collar son of a disowned heiress to a multi-billion-dollar Redfellow family fortune. When his mother passes, he should be set to earn 28 billion dollars. How soon? He’s not sure, but he’s still holding out hope.

He comes to realise that he deserves some recompense that’s coming too slowly, and seven other relatives are in his way. Margaret Qualley (The Substance, Honey, Don’t!) also stars as ex-flame Julia, and in the trailer, she says to Powell, “Well, call me when you’ve killed them all.” Cue the music.

We see elaborate assassinations in the works, Powell sporting various disguises and creeping up the list of his estranged, affluent family, but it seems like other parties might catch onto his scheme before he’s done.

Starring alongside Powell and Qualley are Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist) as current girlfriend Ruth, and Ed Harris (Westworld), Topher Grace (Spider-Man 3), Zach Woods (The Office), Raff Law (Masters of the Air), Bill Camp (The Gilded Age) and Sean Cameron Michael (Around the World in 80 Days) — at least some of whom are playing Becket’s fellow Redfellow’s, soon to be former.

The film is directed by John Patton Ford (Emily the Criminal) and is being fully financed by Studiocanal, with EVP Global Production Ron Halpern and SVP Global Production Joe Naftalin overseeing, along with Pete Czernin and Graham Broadbent of Blueprint Pictures.

How to Make a Killing will release in theatres worldwide in February 2026. Watch the trailer below.
