Kevin Spacey doesn’t really have a home — but he’s not homeless homeless. After the disgraced actor told The Telegraph he’d been bouncing between hotels and Airbnbs and said that “I literally have no home,” Spacey posted a video on Instagram clarifying the “rumors” about his living status.

“I feel the need to respond,” he said. “Not to the press, but to the thousands of people who have reached out over the past few days offering me a place to stay, or have just asked if I’m okay.”

“And to all of you, let me first say that I am truly touched by your generosity, full stop,” he added.

The clarifying comments come after he described his financial situation as “not great” to The Telegraph and admitted that bankruptcy is something that has been “discussed.” Over the past several years, Spacey has been accused of sexual misconduct by more than a dozen men. He has denied all of the allegations.

Spacey said in his video that “it would be disingenuous of me to allow you to believe that I am indeed homeless in the colloquial sense.” He also criticized The Telegraph for misrepresenting his words in the headline, while defending the reporter who interviewed him.

In 2023, Spacey was found not guilty in a London court for a case in which four men said he sexually assaulted them between 2001 and 2013. He was also found not liable in a 2022 civil lawsuit brought by actor Anthony Rapp, who claimed that Spacey had molested him when he was 14 years old.

Since 2017, when the allegations came to light, Spacey has struggled to be hired as an actor. He has appeared in a few projects and recently performed a variety show in Cyprus, which is the center point of The Telegraph feature. In the interview, he claimed he is slowly getting more work.
