Australian folk duo Pierce Brothers have announced their fourth studio album, Moonrise, set for release on November 28th, led by a new single “I Will Love You”.
Once again co-produced by Jack and Patrick Pierce alongside long-time friend and collaborator Phil Threlfall, the album promises to be a stunning collection woven with open-vein storytelling.
“I Will Love You” joins previous Pierce Brothers singles “Run Around The Lake”, “Losing Friends When You’re Older” and “Alaska Alaska” in parting the curtain for the duo’s fourth aldum. Following on from 2024’s Everything Is Bigger Than Me, which garnered resounding acclaim, the pair’s swift follow-up was born largely surrounding their relentless touring schedule that has stretched across the past few years.
Jack explains: “We started working on this album around November last year. We were planning on heading back to Europe and decided that we needed a new album for the tour, so once we locked in the dates, we really gave ourselves a massive deadline that we’ve only just been able to reach!”
A powerful, poignant and anthemic addition to the ever-growing Pierce Brothers catalogue, “I Will Love You” weaves in classic charm, complete with acoustic alchemy, soaring dynamics, and stirring vocals, capturing the pair’s magnetic live energy alongside sonic nods to “that Mumford & Sons world of new folk from the mid-2010s that we’ve always loved,” according to Jack.
A driving ode to self-love and empowerment against the odds, the track delivers poetic narratives in spades; and fittingly, its origin story stems to the pair being approached to pen a song for an extremely special project. It will feature on the Outback Mind Foundation’s men’s mental health documentary When The Dust Settles, which Jack said he and Patrick loved being a part of.

“When the Outback Mind Foundation reached out with their idea for a song to accompany their incredible documentary When The Dust Settles about men’s mental health in outback Australia. I was eager to get writing. We did a few demos first up before we landed on ‘I Will Love You’, but when we got there we immediately knew it was something special! We wanted the track to be this massive anthem to self-love!
“The line ‘I will love you‘ is a simple one, and sounds like a classic love song. But we both loved the idea that it was something that we sometimes need reminding to say to ourselves. It’s an introspective song, looking in a mirror on the darkest days.”
The pair will host special intimate album launch shows in Victoria next month, offering fans a chance to listen to the album up in an up-close-and-personal setting with the band, mixed with a Q&A and live performance.
