London-based Nigerian vocalist Obongjayar, who is releasing a deluxe edition of his acclaimed album PARADISE NOW next month, has announced an Australian tour to complement several festival appearances in early 2026.
The tour will kick off at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on March 3rd, following his set at New Zealand’s Electric Avenue Festival the previous week.
He will then make his way to Brisbane’s Princess Theatre and Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre, before playing at Meredith’s Golden Plains Festival on March 7th and WOMADelaide on March 8th.
The tour is in support of his album PARADISE NOW, with a deluxe edition, PARADISE NOW & FOREVER, due out on November 20th. The album brings together a kaleidoscope of influences, including soul and Afrobeat to spoken word and alternative pop.
The deluxe will include four new tracks that expand the album’s sonic landscape, including the new single “GIVE ME MORE”. The track is a sunlit anthem of desire and drive, buoyed by crisp acoustic strumming and an insistent hook. Its joyous and uplifting tone brings a hopeful edge to Obongjayar’s emotionally open and vulnerable lyrics, to capture the feeling of laying your heart at the feet of a lover.
Obongjayar has been on the radars of keen-eyed soul and Afrobeat fans since 2016’s Home EP laid a first introduction. Since then, his evolution has played out vividly, with the artist navigating his ‘20s through the music, providing listeners with a beautifully fleshed out world of sonics that have drawn acclaim from industry and a growing global fan community alike. In 2022, he released his debut album, Some Nights I Dream of Doors, which won him an Ivor Novello Award.
