Tequila Don Julio 1942 is hosting a ‘Home Straight’ afterparty during Melbourne’s Spring Carnival season, with an exclusive headline performance from Grammy Award-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco.
Hailing from Chicago, Fiasco rose to fame with his critically acclaimed 2006 debut album Food & Liquor, and has since released six celebrated studio albums. He is known for his sharp lyricism, thought-provoking themes, and refusal to conform to mainstream hip-hop norms.
He quickly earned acclaim for his storytelling and social commentary, tackling issues like racism and politics. Albums such as The Cool, Lasers, and DROGAS WAVE showcase his complex wordplay and intellectual depth. Iconic hits include “The Show Goes On”, “Superstar”, and the chart-topping collaboration with Australia’s own Guy Sebastian, “Battle Scars”.
Beyond music, Lupe is an advocate for education and social justice, often blending art with activism. His influence continues to shape hip-hop’s more conscious and philosophical side, inspiring a generation of lyricists.
Taking place at Society, a premium venue by the Lucas Collective, on Saturday, November 1st, the afterparty will align with the Tequila Don Julio ethos, celebrating connection, craftsmanship, and unforgettable moments. The range of drinks offer rich complexity, vibrancy, and shared celebration.
Supporting Fiasco at the event will be Australian rising stars Alexandrè and Thandi Phoenix, who will set the tone for the night with their signature blend of R&B and afrobeats.
