Eddie Murphy shows why he’s “not like anybody in this town” in the new trailer for his upcoming documentary, Being Eddie.

Directed by Angus Wall, the film will offer a deep dive into the comedian’s singular career, offering both extensive interviews with Murphy, as well as footage of him at home with his family. There will also be interviews with many of Murphy’s friends and peers, including Dave Chappelle, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jamie Foxx, and Jerry Seinfeld.

The new trailer for the doc teases its massive scope, tracing Murphy’s rise from a stand-up sensation and Saturday Night Live star to a performer capable of completely dominating the cultural landscape. “My stuff took off because they’d never seen a young Black person take charge,” Murphy says in the clip.

Being Eddie will also dig into Murphy’s ability to constantly reinvent and push himself, whether he was playing multiple parts while wearing tons of prosthetics in The Nutty Professor, or earning Oscar nominations and Golden Globe awards for his performance in Dreamgirls.

But most important, the film looks like it’ll be filled with bits. In the trailer, Murphy does a shadow puppet of Donkey from Shrek, plays with his Richard Pryor ventriloquism dummy, jokes about haunting his house for years to come, and reveals his favorite show to watch on television: Ridiculousness. (“I love that he’s sitting around watching Ridiculousness — that’s fucking hilarious,” quips Pete Davidson.)

Being Eddie is set to premiere on Netflix on Nov. 12. It will also feature appearances from Chris Rock, Kenan Thompson, Kevin Hart, Ruth Carter, Michael Che, Tracy Morgan, Arsenio Hall, Brian Grazer, Jerry Bruckheimer, John Landis, and more.
