Charli XCX‘s A24 film endeavor is getting an A-list cast behind it. On Thursday, the pop star shared a first flashy teaser for the upcoming film, The Moment, unveiling that celebs like Kylie Jenner and actors such as Rachel Sennott and Alexander Skarsgård will be featured in the film. It’s out next year.
Aidan Zamiri and Bertie Brandes co-wrote the film “based on an original idea” by Charli XCX. According to a provided synopsis, the film will be about “a rising pop star navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut.”
Eighties icon Rosanna Arquette, Charli bestie and Sweat tour opener Shygirl, Interview editor-in-chief Mel Ottenberg, and PC Music founder and Charli collaborator A.G. Cook are also featured in the film. (Cook will also be in charge of The Moment‘s music.) Jamie Demetriou, Kate Berlant, Isaac Powell, and Rish Shah are among the actors featured. Arielle Dombasle, Hailey Benton Gates, Tish Weinstock, Trew Mullen, Michael Workéyè, and Richard Perez round out the cast.
Charli shared a strobe-light, flashy teaser for the film, unveiling the entire cast backed by a gritty remix to “I Love It,” her collaboration with Icona Pop. (Warning: the Bratty video’s flashing is quite intense.)
Charli confirmed the project back in January 2025, and told Billboard previously that she had three weeks booked off to work on writing a film in Poland. “Well, I don’t really know if I should say because I also don’t know if we’re going to do it,” she said. “We might actually just go to Poland and not do that, but that is the idea.”
“We would write it and shoot it at the same time, kind of like making an album,” Charli explained, referring to Zamiri. “One of the guys is the director — he works that way all the time.”
