Indie rock four-piece Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have announced their second full-length studio album, GLORY.

Out November 7th via Mom+Pop Music (and Community Music in AU/NZ), GLORY is described as an exploration of confidence, disgust, infatuation, and power set against indie rock you can strut to.

Ushering in a new era for the band, Teen Jesus describe the album as the sound of getting the bus home after a night out, mascara smeared and phone battery at 1%.

One of the tracks on the album, “MOTHER”, has been released as a single, with its official video below. Previous singles “BALCONY” and “UNSCARRED” also feature.

The band’s new single is unlike anything they have released before, with its Western-inspired beginnings exploding into fury. Guitarist Scarlett McKahey takes lead vocals for the first time.

“‘MOTHER’ is for every beautiful, magical lady who’s been caught in the crossfire of a man pretending to be good,” the band share.

“It’s about the built up rage of watching incredible women being mistreated by inadequate men, over and over again since the beginning of time.”

Produced by London-based Grammy Award-winning Catherine Marks, GLORY is an album the band say is “completely us.”

Together with Marks, the four-piece — McKahey, Anna Ryan, Jaida Stephenson, and Neve van Boxsel — spent five intense weeks at a home studio on NSW’s Central Coast, shaping every detail until the songs sounded exactly as intended.

Marks fostered an environment where they felt empowered to say no, encouraged to experiment, and free to throw out whatever didn’t fit — all in service of arriving at the truest distillation of their sound. Every vocal, instrumental part, and lyric on GLORY emerged exactly as the band envisioned, their musicianship taking centre stage to deliver the suckerpunch power that drives the record.

Across their previously released singles, Teen Jesus have amassed more than 450,000 streams on Spotify.

They have been on a sharp rise since their 2022 debut EP Pretty Good for a Girl Band, with breakout single “Girl Sports” landing at #55 on the triple j Hottest 100.

Their debut album I Love You (2023) landed at No. 6 on the ARIA Charts, with “I Used to Be Fun” placing at #52 on the Hottest 100, while the deluxe I Love You Too (2024) added new singles “Dull” (ft. Softcult) and “Please Me” (ft. The Linda Lindas).

Along the way they’ve earned J Awards, APRA Awards, Rolling Stone Australia Awards, AIR Awards, and Music ACT honours, been named one of Spotify’s Artists to Watch, and opened for Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam in both Australia and the US.

Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers’ GLORY is out November 7th (pre-save here).
