Rising US singer-songwriter Gigi Perez has revealed that plans are in motion for her debut tour of Australia.

Speaking to Rolling Stone AU/NZ on ground in London at BST Hyde Park, where she opened for Noah Kahan and Gracie Abrams, the New Jersey-born artist confirmed she will be heading our way “very soon,” though she couldn’t yet reveal more details.

“Yes, for sure. I want to go to Australia so bad,” Perez said. “It’s definitely in the works to be happening very soon.”

Perez’s star has risen rapidly in the last 12 months, thanks to her global hit song, Sailor Song, which was released in July last year. The track hit No. 1 in the UK and reached the top five in the US and Australia.

She was listed as one of Rolling Stone‘s artists to watch for 2025 and her April-released debut effort, At the Beach, in Every Life, also cracked charts around the world.

Following her set on the Hyde Park main stage, Perez joined Kahan during his headlining slot to perform his track, Call Your Mom, in front of the 65,000 in attendance.

Despite the rapid success in the last year, Perez said she has been able to remain grounded throughout.

“My family travels with me, so they’re pretty much always there. My mum is a part of my team, and she’s always going to be my mum,” she said.

“I went through an experience not long ago where I was released from my first record deal… it was a teacher to me. I learned from that experience and I continue to all the time. The way that I see life is we’re not promised or guaranteed anything, and the most important thing that we do have is each other and connection. All of this could fall away tomorrow.

“I’m aware that this is a privilege, so it’s not something that I expect.”
