Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson bring the laughs in the latest trailer for The Naked Gun. The film, out in August, will be the fourth in the iconic action-comedy franchise.

The new Naked Gun was co-written and directed by the Lonely Island‘s Akiva Schaffer. Liam Neeson stars as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Leslie Nielsen’s previous protagonist Frank Drebin. Like his father, Drebin Jr. is a wildcard cop, getting into a number of hijinks while solving crimes. He meets the sultry Beth, played by Pamela Anderson, who has come to him after her brother has been murdered. Beth and Frank find themselves in a couple raunchy scenarios as the trailer unfolds.

The first installment of The Naked Gun film franchise was released in 1988, with a sequel following in 1991. The third installment, The Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult debuted in 1994. O.J. Simpson was one of the film’s leads alongside Nielsen, and he is cheekily referenced as the father of one of the new characters. Priscilla Presley also starred in the original franchise, though there is no confirmation if she’ll appear in the latest film.

Anderson and Neeson spoke highly of one another last fall when discussing the film. Anderson told People that Neeson is “a perfect gentleman” and excellent scene partner. “He brings out the best in you,” she said, “with respect, kindness, and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him.”

“I’m madly in love with her,” Neeson said of Anderson. “No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific in the film.”

The Naked Gun will arrive in theatres on Aug. 1.
