The American Music Awards are back! After taking a two-year hiatus, the AMAs returned Monday night to hand out trophies to the best in music. Jennifer Lopez will host the show.
Kendrick Lamar is the most nominated artist of the year with 10 nods across seven categories. He’s nominated three times in the Favorite Hip-Hop Song category for “Luther” with SZA, “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin, and “Not Like Us” as a solo artist.
Lamar is trailed in nominations by Post Malone, who scored eight, and seven-time nominees Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey. All of these artists saw their nomination count boosted by the addition of three new categories. For the first time, the AMAs will honor artists for Album, Song, and Social Song of the Year. The inaugural batch of albums includes Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, Charli XCX’s Brat, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, and more.
