Good news to kick off NZ Music Month/Te Marama Puoro o Aotearoa: Auckland’s favourite street party, The Others Way, is back.
The beloved festival returns to take over the Karangahape Road precinct on Saturday, November 29th.
“Tāmaki Makaurau’s favourite scrappy little street party once again lives to fight another day,” reads the official announcement. “And boy oh boy, do we have some big ol’ news coming your way…”
Since launching in 2015, The Others Way has built a strong following by consistently presenting a diverse lineup across genres including indie, pop, electronic, hip-hop, soul, punk, metal, folk, and more.
Now in its eleventh year, The Others Way will feature 40 acts across venues up and down K Road and its surrounds. Expect a mix of international guests, local favourites, emerging artists, and the return of the popular outdoor stage.

Artist announcements will roll out in the coming weeks. In the meantime, fans can stay up to date via the festival’s new website, Facebook, and Instagram.
Earlybird tickets are available now via Moshtix, with buy now, pay later options through Zip.
Last year’s edition delivered a stacked lineup: Taite Music Prize nominee Erny Belle, psych-pop purveyors Soaked Oats, and indie-rock multi-instrumentalist Ladyhawke all drew packed crowds. From overseas came Parquet Courts frontman A. Savage, indie songwriter Andy Shauf, Aussie jazz fusion group Mildlife, and Dean & Britta performing the dream-pop gems of Galaxie 500.
Rolling Stone AU/NZ wrote at the time, “Being at The Others Way 2024 often felt like a privilege.” From Dean & Britta’s nostalgia-laced set to Theia’s protest anthems, the range and energy of the day didn’t go unnoticed. Local genre-hoppers SKILAA were praised for their “clear onstage joy [that] proved to be immediately infectious.”
Even amid murmurs around post-pandemic crowd etiquette, the music remained the main event. As the review summed up: “The Others Way’s outstanding quality… was more than enough to compensate.”
