Barely two months after signing with iconic US label Merge Records, Melbourne trio Cable Ties have announced a national tour in support of their forthcoming album, Far Enough.
After a number of years spent tearing up local stages, Australia’s Cable Ties have undoubtedly made some pretty serious in-roads to the American scene. Having signed with Merge Records for international distribution, the group’s second album, Far Enough, was officially announced last month.
Set for release on March 27, the record will arrive in the middle a busy period for the group, with live shows in the US, the UK, and Europe all planned for the coming months, while an appearance at Texas’ South By Southwest conference is set to showcase them to the wider industry as well.
Of course, while this month sees Cable Ties performing at a number of Aussie festivals, they’ve not forgotten about their home country, announcing a run of local headline dates as well.
Kicking off in April, the tour will keep the trio occupied for much of the month, with dates set for Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Port Kemblar, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Fremantle, and Brisbane across the coming weeks.
To make things even more exciting, the band have also accompanied this news by sharing their latest single, “The Self-Made Man”.
“The Self-Made Man created wealth through the exploitation of other people and abuse of public resources,” explains Jenny McKechnie of the track’s inspiration.. “He doesn’t care about the suffering of others because — in his eyes — he got what he deserved through hard work, and they have not.

“It is inconvenient for the Self-Made Man to analyse systems of oppression which he has manipulated for his own gain. Those things are just a distraction from hard work and getting what you want.”
Cable Ties are set to release Far Enough on March 27, with their national tour kicking off in April. Read on for full details.
