Electro-pop provocateur BIG WETT has shared news of her sophomore EP RISK IT plus a new (old) single.
The collection will be out on Friday, April 25th — with seven new tracks to boldy stir the pot. The release of the long awaited single ‘PONY (RIDE ME)’ follows the news, where longtime fans (called “Wetties) had been “begging forever”.
Synth-led “PONY (RIDE ME)” treads on the the heels of the successful “HOLD UP UR BODY” and “TOP OF THE CLASS“. It unsurprisingly contains double entendres and unapologetic lyrics that reek provocativeness and power.
Co-written and produced by Reggie Goodchild (Confidence Man), it opens with the line, “I had a dream just the other night, I was a pony and everything was right.”
“There’s something so horny and nasty about the bassline, it truly does make me want to f***,” she shared. It is “possibly [sic] the least offensive song on the whole EP, even though it’s laden with euphemisms about riding your mount until you climax.”
“Ride me like a pony, yeeha!” the chorus gallops.
BIG WETT added, “I love the growing intensity of the whip cracks and the swirling synth at the end, signifying the peak of pleasure. Best enjoyed with a mate. You’re welcome Wetties.”
The rise of sex-positive songs written and performed by female artists, such as Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan recently, continues to penetrate the charts — clearly appealing to fans of all backgrounds.
BIG WETT is among many female acts who are inviting the popular audience to embrace themselves and their sexuality, while dancing their troubles away. In an interview with Rolling Stone, BIG WETT talked about her confidence in her physical appearance and her cocksure persona.
“‘PONY (RIDE ME)’ is more than a song—it’s an invitation to let loose and join the ride. Giddy up!” BIG WETT calls.
